Some of you know that I raise orchids and I have lots of them. Most of you don't know that I am trying to cross breed them to produce new types of orchids. If I am successful at this and create a cross breed that no one else has ever created I will be able to name it and have it registered in my name. I could name it anything I wanted! So I was thinking of this while watching an episode of Miami Ink. I have decided that if I ever get to name an orchid that I created by cross breeding I am going to get it tattooed on my back, between my shoulders. Maybe growing out of my spine. Cool, yes???
Today I went wedding dress shopping with my friend Jen (who I have been friends with since grade school and who was my maid of honor at my wedding) She is getting married on April 1st of 2006 ( no, not a joke) She had been dress shopping at least five other times and had found nothing. We go to a shop near her house today that she had been to before and I really had the shopping MOJO today! I went to a rack and picked up this dress. I have to say it looked really blah on the hanger. But something about the dress spoke to me, I have no idea why I picked it up, I have no idea why I went to that rack first. I handed it to her and said "I like this, go try it on." It's a good thing that we are very good friends, because she made a face at the dress, but trusted me enough to go try it on. Not only did it fit like a glove, off the rack mind you, but it looked stunning! She bought it on the spot and it is now in her house. The only thing that will need to be done to it is chopping off about three feet from the hem ( she is only 4ft 9in tall) The dress is very simple. No froof, bows, beads, ribbon or tulle. Some ruching across the front and a line of buttons down the back, that's it. It's like the dress was made for her, and her alone. I am so proud (o: We went back to her house and took photos, which I will post on my blog as soon as she sends them to me. We had to stand her on a chair to get the photos, so she looks a whole lot taller than she really is.
Today I had good shopping MOJO and did not buy a single thing for myself....sigh.
